I am the daughter of a parent who was in long term recovery, before passing away due to Covid-19 complications on 8/11/2020 and the niece of someone who lost their battle to addiction while incarcerated. Typically I would have remained silent about family issues let's be honest most of us do however, after learning of my family members death I searched and continue to search for answers and justice. I made the choice along the way to full fill a dream that my uncle started to talk about to me while in recovery. That dream was to become a Recovery Coach / Peer Support, I can not fill those shoes 100% but I have decided to fill them as much as I can.
